I am a technology enthusiast with extensive experience in computer hardware, software, programming, and foundational networking. My journey began with computer classes in high school, followed by an associate degree in Computer Hardware and Software from UC. Expanding my skillset, I attended Live Oaks Trade School, where I specialized in CNC machining. There, I honed my ability to read blueprints and manufacture precision parts using manual mills and lathes, as well as mastering advanced tools like the Prototrak lathe and mill. During my training, I demonstrated initiative and creativity by designing and fabricating a custom chess set using recycled materials—a project completed within my first three months. After graduation, I joined Valco, where I gained hands-on experience in workflow optimization and collaborative production. My role involved diverse responsibilities, including braze welding plungers, assembling applicator heads, building pumps, and conducting wire testing. I pride myself on being a fast learner, a dedicated team player, and a problem-solver who consistently strives for excellence in every task. My passion for technology and machining drives my commitment to delivering exceptional results and continuously improving my skills. During my CNC course, I discovered that my real interest lay not just in operating the machines, but in understanding how they work, solving technical problems, and designing custom parts. This realization deepened while working on a recent personal project, where I found myself genuinely passionate about mechanical systems and engineering concepts. As a result, I’m now seriously considering pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at UC. To ensure this path is the right fit, I’ve been taking online courses to explore the subject further before committing to the financial and personal investment of returning to school full time. This would likely require me to leave my current role at Valco and take on student loan debt, so I want to be confident in my decision before making that transition.
