In Naval Aviation, when you first start flight school they tell you that all pilots start with two buckets: One of experience, and one of luck. You start with a full bucket of luck and an empty bucket of experience, and the goal is to fill the latter before the former runs out! Twice, flying over the coast of Africa I have lost an engine at night, and needed to rely on my buckets of experience and luck to successfully and safely manage my aircraft and crew to bring everyone home without injury or loss. I have flown in the military for over 7 years, my bucket of experience has been filled with situations ranging from the dynamic to the dull, day and night, all over the globe. I've had the pleasure (though dubious) of instructing pilots how to land on naval vessels for their first time at night. Watched them grow from terrified co-pilots (I was there too) as we landed in blowing dust so thick it darkened the cockpit, to confident instructors themselves. Marine Corps Aviation is wholly focused on supporting the Marine on the ground, and I've enjoyed the interactions working with the customer, to define their requirements, and find the most efficient and effective solution to support them. I am excited to bring my years of planning training and tactical missions, flying and instructing, leading motivated teams, and working together for a common goal to the next phase of my career in the civilian sector. Experienced Operational Leader with a demonstrated history of performance in the military industry. When my feet are on the ground, I care about setting the best example I can for my son and provide for his future. I enjoy surfing and diving, motorcycles, and live music.
