About Autumn Pena

With over six years of work experience in education and hospitality, I currently work as a Quality Review Specialist (contract)on the Duolingo English Test team, which is a large international team of proctors and leaders whose main goal is to keep the test secure and free of assessment bias. My main responsibilities include using my security expertise to detect and report malicious behavior, as well as regularly attending meetings and calibration sessions to keep my skills up to date. I also have experience as a language and cultural assistant at CEIP Martina Garcia, a primary school in Spain, and as a hostess at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, a popular restaurant in New York City. I have a BA in sociology from Emmanuel College, and I have strong skills in social networking, Facebook, and public speaking. My core competencies are intercultural competence, customer service, and communication. My mission is to foster positive and respectful relationships among people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, and to share my passion for languages, cultures, and learning.
