About Ava Cox

I am currently a Social Work Intern at Novant Health Adult Primary Care Harper Hill, where I provide psychosocial support, resource coordination, and care interventions for adult patients. My experience spans working with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and the elderly, across various settings such as healthcare, education, and residential care. Through roles as a W.A.A.Y to Success counselor, a Behavioral Health Associate at The Children’s Center of Northwest North Carolina, and a Residential Counselor at Youth Unlimited, I have honed my skills in behavioral intervention, counseling, and care coordination. I am particularly passionate about helping vulnerable populations access the resources they need to thrive and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve holistic care outcomes. My goal is to continue growing as a social work professional and advocate for those in need by supporting individuals and families in overcoming barriers to well-being. I am driven by a deep commitment to social justice, mental health advocacy, and empowering communities.
