About Ava Durrell

I spent seven of my most formative teenage years in the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Organization, earning myself the highest possible position and rank, multiple awards and recognitions, and countless opportunities not found in any other youth organization. I was selected out of hundreds of applications from across British Columbia to go on a two-week expedition to Europe in March of 2018. In the summer of 2018, I was appointed the Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major for the Vernon Cadet Training Centre, and was directly responsible for more than 1500 cadet youths from across Western Canada. My real passion, however, is in the environmental sector, and specifically how we can best manage the world around us. I earned my diploma in Environmental Studies (Environmental Management) from Okanagan College, and started at Royal Roads University in Fall 2022 to complete my BA in Environmental Practice.
