About Ava McCormick
I am currently majoring in Business,Society and Economics (BeSoc) at Colorado College. During the summer of 2022, I was an intern at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) where I helped to design lessons and activities to engage kids with the natural world with a focus on ecological proficiency, regenerative agriculture, forest and ecosystem health, land restoration, and environmental leadership. In the summer of 2023, my role as an assistant teacher at Horizons, a summer program for underserved students, allowed me to further refine my skills in individualized student support and class leadership. I am incredibly passionate about education and confident in my ability to contribute fresh perspectives to the internship. My experiences have equipped me with a range of innovative ideas to enhance program and curriculum design and engage youth with specific content effectively.
