About Ava Sheard

Ava is a Partner at Virtca Pty Ltd, where she leads portfolio success and community initiatives, with a keen interest in operational support, education, training, onboarding, and marketing. Ava is also an active Angel Investor and a member of Southern Angels, where she is committed to further developing the female angel investment ecosystem throughout South Australia. In addition, she is a member of various female empowerment and ex-pat organizations within Adelaide. Ava holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in English Language Arts and a minor in Career and Technology studies. She is also an avid technologist and maker, with the completion of numerous courses such as Microsoft and Software Development, and possesses a long list of specialized skill sets in various tools, systems, and processes. With over fifteen years of experience, Ava has lived and worked in the United States, Canada and Australia, holding various roles in operations, procurement, technology, and education. During her time in the United States, she undertook teaching roles at inner-city elementary schools with a high-risk student population, obtaining her English as a Second Language (ESL) and Special Education teaching designations. She successfully managed classrooms with diverse student populations, often having to navigate multiple languages (15+) spoken by students in her class at any given time.
