About Aven Gonzalez

I don't know what magic words I have to write to convince somebody that I am the best candidate for their position. I'm not a copywriter, I'm an artist. I tell stories visually. I work hard, play harder, and communicate directly. Visual Design of any flavor is basically my jam. While I specialize in Graphic Design and Scenic Artistry, people very quickly realize that I am essentially a one-person production crew. And that seems to TERRIFY recruiters and business people who think human beings are only capable of doing exactly one thing. But that fierce adaptability is what has allowed me to keep working in a staggering variety of environments on my quest to find a forever home. I have created Design assets for video games, entertainment, performing arts, concerts, conventions, and the board game / hobby industries. I am always the exception to the rule and I consistently defy and exceed expectations when I am given a chance to perform. But I don't let it get to my head. I am often cited as kind, caring, generous, and really big on teamwork. Because of my deep understanding of so many production roles, I fully understand and appreciate that the best work is done by a team. I love enabling everyone around me to do their best work and I always strive to brighten everyone's day with my presence. I am the one who brings cookies to work, the one who plays music for people when they are down, the one who will remind people of how amazing they are when the day feels a bit dark. I am currently seeking full time work as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, or Scenic Artist. I love a good adventure and will relocate anywhere that has a great team, interesting work, and will allow me to settle in for the long term so I can grow with the organization. I am currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at USC, but that position is only 1 day per week so I am more than open for a another position that can accomodate not working on Fridays until November.
