Background

About Avery Fraser

I am a detail-oriented Bachelor of Arts student at the University of the Fraser Valley, majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Social Research and a minor in Global Development Studies. I am deeply committed to amplifying the voices, perspectives, and ways of knowing of marginalized groups through community-based research. Throughout my studies at UFV, I have developed strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. I am especially passionate about applying what I have learned to advocate for gender equity, good health and well-being, and climate action. I hope to continue building on this foundation, expanding my skill set, and deepening my commitment to these causes by furthering my education in a Master of Public Policy program, where I can develop the tools to help enact effective, equitable, and evidence-informed policy.
