About Avery Leamon

Avery Leamon an adaptable, self-motivated individual who thrives in team settings. She is known for her personability, problem-solving skills, and drive for success. She was raised in Sonora, Texas, where she was the president of Student Council, the secretary of the National Honor Society, Lion’s Club Queen and scholarship recipient, as well as a member of various student organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes and FFA. During the summers of 2016-2019, she served as a judicial intern under Judge Pedro Gomez of the 112th District Court and was involved with many cases, including a capital murder trial. She attended Texas A&M University, where she was involved with student organizations such as Fish Camp, A&M United Methodist Church and the Wesley Foundation. She developed an interest in international relations while studying at the Bush School, where she specialized in international politics and diplomacy. It is her love for people and desire to connect that drove her to pursue a degree in International Studies while refining her communication skills in both English and Spanish. Avery worked on campus in the Information Enterprise Systems office as a student worker, the Dixie Chicken as a server, and at A&M United Methodist Church as both a frequent volunteer and communications intern while completing her studies. Avery is currently expanding her language base to include Portuguese, working for a law firm in Houston as a paralegal and firm administrator, and is planning to combine her passion for international affairs and public education by pursing a Juris Doctor at the University of Houston Law Center this fall.
