About Avery McEvoy

At RMI, I co-lead the Virtual Power Plant Partnership (VP3), a coalition of energy technology and service providers aiming to scale the market for virtual power plants. As the Regulatory and Policy Lead, I engage state public utility commissions and legislatures on how VPPs can support their grids and customers. Additionally, I am the Project Manager for CHARGED, an initiative deigned to support states and utilities as they electrify their transportation and building sectors, maintain their distribution grids, and strengthen affordability and reliability for customers. I believe in the power of facilitative problem solving, data and analysis, and clear science communication to achieve actionable, tangible change. We are in the decisive decade, with a looming climate tipping point on the horizon in 2030—and I believe we are up to the challenge. Through a focused, concerted, facilitated, and innovative effort, we can accelerate the deployment of flexible electrified devices, renewables, and demand-side management technologies to make clean energy reliable, accessible, and affordable for all.
