Background

About Avery Perkins

I am a recently graduated International Relations and Arabic student with a passion for Middle Eastern foreign affairs and community service. In my role as a Tutoring Intern with Elimisha Kakuma, I empowered refugee students navigating the U.S. higher education system. By supporting them through the admissions process and enhancing their academic and professional writing, I helped three students secure full-ride scholarships. This experience deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities and sharpened my skills in managing complex deadlines and financial aid procedures. Additionally, my background in customer service at Hacienda Del Sol has fine-tuned my interpersonal skills and ability to operate at a high standard of excellence. I am eager to apply my professional and social skills towards the workplace.
