About Avery Price

I’m a Community Awareness and Engagement Coordinator with a passion for not-for-profit marketing and community engagement. Hi there, here’s my story so far: After graduating from Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce (concentration in Marketing), I began my career in global retail, hitting the ground running with an internship and then a full-time position on Groupe Dynamite’s marketing team. There, I participated in their Graduate Rotational Program and got to experience all business areas, including merchandising, planning, finance, e-commerce and international development. It wasn’t long before my love of adventure tourism called me “out West”, where I traded in my slingbacks for ski boots and built the majority of my marketing career executing multi-channel marketing campaigns for Canada’s top ski resorts, including Big White Ski Resort and SkiBig3. In these roles, I honed specialities in media relations, influencer management, content strategy and copywriting while deepening my connection to Western Canada’s incredible Rocky Mountains. My appreciation of this incredible landscape and curiosity to understand my responsibility within it led to two years of graduate studies at Royal Roads University, achieving a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education and Communication. It also led to my certification as a nature-based Early Childhood Educator and volunteer Social Media Manager with the Bow Valley’s leading bike advocacy not-for-profit, Community Cruisers. I joined headspace, Australia's most well-known mental health support service for young people aged 12-25, in 2023 as their Marketing and Communications Officer. I was recently promoted to the role of Community Awareness and Engagement Coordinator. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia, with my Aussie husband and Golden Retriever, Atlas. When I'm not stuck into marketing work (and googling how to use commas properly), you can find me cycling along the coast, camping with friends, or picking away at one of my many crafty hobbies.
