About Avi Bowie

Avi Bowie, LCSW,(pronouns: they/he) is a therapist, consultant, and facilitator with over 20 years of experience in the field of social services/justice. Avi’s passion lies in working toward the healing and liberation of historically marginalized folk through the processes of cultivating deeper self-love, relationship/community building, and supporting collective learning, growth, and well-being. Avi’s expertise lies in the areas of adolescent/family/community trauma and resilience; mindfulness awareness practice; BIPOC, trans/gender-expansive, and queer equity; curriculum development and training/facilitation. Avi's approach and perspective is informed by their experience as a queer, transmasculine, person of color, who also holds educational, class, and light skin privilege. Avi received their Bachelor's degree in Medical Anthropology from Hampshire College, and their Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Avi currently works as a psychotherapist in private practice, and serves as a Senior Consultant with Morten Group, LLC.
