About Avi Kumar Singh

I am a CS graduate, working as an software engineer at V-Nova. On day to day basis, I work on improving the in house Video Quality Framework which has a Distributed System architecture. Prior to this, I gained an experience as a Software Dev Engineer (SDE) at Amazon Alexa in Cambridge where I worked in the Alexa AI organization and improved the performance of the data service of Alexa. My team owned Alexa Linked Data service and Alexa Schema and a part of my work was to enable and onboard Alexa Skills customers to build alexa applications by accessing data through our service. On a turn basis, I also provided the 24x7 on-call support. On one occasion, I engineered a solution to handle some of the queries on our service related to F1 and FIFA usecase.During vacation at university, I worked as an application development intern at Oracle India in the Customer Experience organisation. I worked on a full-stack project built on top of Oracle Cloud. Despite new technology stack, I showed a good learning curve and at the same time contributed to the project, building the tool from the ground up. This opportunity provided me a chance to work with some very skilled engineers, and brainstorming ideas in meetings was pivotal for my growth in this field.On another occasion, I served as a mobile development intern during winter breaks of my first year of college. In this role, I actively contributed to enhancing the mobile application, performing test driven development of the UI and UX components using Kotlin language. Collaborating with a diverse team – comprising designers, marketing managers, QA, and data analysts provided me a holistic experience.Through these diverse experiences, I have cultivated adaptability and a keen ability to learn quickly. My exposure to fast-paced work environments, particularly during my time at Amazon and Oracle, have equipped me with the resilience and skills necessary to thrive in challenging situations.
