About Avijit Chowdhury

As a postdoctoral researcher at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, I work on cutting-edge projects that investigate the neurocognitive effects of ketamine administration on individuals with major depressive disorder, using 7T MRI. I also apply computational modeling to analyze decision-making in social interactions, using model-based fMRI. My research contributes to advancing the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders, as well as the neuroscience of consciousness and social behavior. I hold a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from National University of Singapore, where I conducted online and offline experiments on economic decision-making and belief systems, using behavioral and neuroimaging methods (EEG, fMRI, MEG). I have published multiple peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals, and presented my work at international conferences. I have strong skills in data analysis, programming, and statistical modeling, using various tools and languages (Matlab, Python, Bash, Javascript). I am passionate about exploring the mysteries of the human mind and brain, and applying my knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems.
