About Avinash de Silva

I’ve spent the last decade leading transformation across organisations that needed more from their technology. Sometimes that meant rebuilding platforms. Other times it meant redesigning how people work together. But at the heart of it has always been the same focus: helping businesses grow by creating better experiences for both employees and customers. Right now, I’m Head of Technology at Alvarium and Pathfinder. I came into a fragmented environment with limited investment and big ambitions. I built a clear strategy, rebuilt our stack, introduced automation and AI, and helped lift trust in the tech function across the business. That work supported a tripling in headcount and a tenfold increase in tech funding. Before that, I led digital transformation across Fresh Direct, built a Salesforce consulting practice from scratch at Be Intelligent, and launched Datacom’s Dynamics 365 HR capability in New Zealand. I’ve worked across complex supply chains, financial services, and professional services, and I’ve built a reputation for connecting strategy to delivery and lifting the performance of the teams I lead. I care about people. I spend time understanding what’s slowing them down and where things feel harder than they should. Then I design systems and structures that actually help. I’m not interested in shiny tech for the sake of it. I’m interested in outcomes, momentum, and making things better. I also serve on the national board of IT Professionals NZ and will be joining Oxford’s Executive Diploma in AI program next year. I’m passionate about the future of work and how we can build organisations that are modern, responsive, and human.
