Avinash is Deputy Head of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP's International Arbitration practice. He also practices in Malaysia as a partner of Christopher & Lee Ong, a firm within the Rajah & Tann Asia network. Avinash has been recognised in Who's Who Legal for his 'superb advocacy skills and ability to explain complex concepts easily.' The geographical reach of Avinash's practice is broad - as a practitioner in international arbitration, he has dealt with disputes in many different jurisdictions across Asia, and beyond. Avinash has extensive experience of construction & infrastructure disputes, and oil & gas disputes, as well as joint venture disputes and shareholder disputes. He also has broad and deep experience, across different sectors, of disputes arising out of distributorship agreements, supply agreements, and franchise agreements. He is often engaged on factually and legally complex matters which involve multi-disciplinary technical issues. Avinash is also well versed in the techniques for dealing with cross-border disputes and disputes involving conflicts between international arbitration proceedings and court litigation. He is adept at formulating and applying for urgent interim relief, including freezing and anti-suit injunctions. In Singapore, Avinash has been recognised as an Accredited Specialist for Building and Construction Law under the Singapore Academy of Law’s Specialist Accreditation Scheme. The voluntary accreditation scheme was launched in 2018 as a mark of recognition for lawyers who have gained professional excellence in their areas of practice.
