About Aws Idris
I am a Ph.D. candidate and a graduate research and teaching assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University. I obtained my B.Sc. in civil engineering from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 2017, and my M.Sc. in structural engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan, in 2019. My research focuses on advancing the safety and resilience of civil and marine structures through innovative engineering solutions. Specifically, I specialize in probabilistic and reliability analysis, safety assessment of ship structural components, risk and resilience enhancement of infrastructure systems, and development of advanced seismic control technologies, such as buckling-restrained braces, for civil infrastructure. Additionally, I investigate the behavior of single and double-shear slip-critical steel connections to enhance structural performance and reliability. My work aims to contribute to the design of safer, more sustainable, and resilient infrastructure systems.
