About Axel Stevens

I served five years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps with one combat deployment in Helmand Province, Afghanistan during the summer of 2010. I am continuing my service as a reservist with 4th Force Reconnaissance Company out of Alameda, CA. I have extensive knowledge of night vision systems, lasers, electro-optical imaging systems, fire control and small missile guidance systems. My educational background is in Aerospace Engineering, having completed courses at Cal Poly Pomona. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Aeronautical Science at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a dual emphasis on Aeronautics and Unmanned Aerial Systems. I am embarking on an education parallel to my engineering background with the goal of becoming a Firefighter Paramedic. My desire to serve my community and country will continue as I advance in both the Marine Corps Reserves and as a Fire Department Paramedic. I wish to utilize my aerospace education to break into the growing field of personal Unmanned Aerial Systems, with the hope of starting my own company one day to develop a range of UAV solutions for use in search and rescue, law enforcement, military small unit intelligence gathering, and recreational civilian applications.
