About Ayan Dandapat

As a teaching assistant at The University of Alabama, I support the undergraduate physics courses and labs, helping students understand the fundamental concepts and principles of physics. I am also pursuing my PhD in physics, focusing on experimental aspects of high-energy physics. My research interests include particle detectors, heavy-ion collisions, and nuclear structures. I have gained hands-on experience in these fields through my previous projects and internships. For example, I worked on gamma-gamma coincidences in 200 mass region at IIT Ropar, where I modified the level scheme of 201Po and calibrated the detectors using Ba133 and Eu152 sources. I also interned at Bose Institute Kolkata, where I studied particle detectors for heavy-ion experiments. Additionally, I have acquired multiple certifications and skills in public relations, leadership, and management through my volunteer work at Pehchaan Ek Safar, a NGO that promotes literacy and scientific temper among the future citizens. I am deeply passionate about exploring the mysteries of nature and advancing the frontiers of knowledge in physics. I am constantly seeking opportunities to learn and work on challenging and innovative projects in nuclear and particle physics. I aspire to become a leading researcher and educator in this field, contributing to the scientific community and society.
