Motivated by the challenge of achieving business goals in complex industry and stakeholder environments, I hold over 15 years’ commercial expertise in law, policy, external relations and regulatory affairs, and a proven track record of delivering positive impact through advanced influencing and relationship management skills. Head of Government, Policy and Regulatory Affairs with Bupa, I offer a robust training as a commercial lawyer and a strong academic aptitude, exemplified by a First Class Bachelor of Laws and current study towards an MBA and Masters in Politics and Policy. Enjoying the operational and leadership aspects of my work, I’ve taken on a number of out-of-scope roles during my tenure, including a secondment to lead product management and more recently, an appointment on Bupa’s Health Insurance leadership team. Part of my success to date can be attributed to an exceptional ability to resolve legislative, policy, regulatory and operational problems. A quick thinker with an ability to rapidly identify core issues, I’ve been told I have an almost uncanny capacity to retain and digest pertinent information, enabling me to take a strategic, big-picture viewpoint on business challenges, whilst being able to ensure accuracy and integrity in detail. People-oriented, I’m a firm believer in honest and open discourse, building transparent and widely respected relationships with Government, business and industry connections as well as internal stakeholder and direct reports. Able to communicate vision and advocacy positions clearly and with passion for what I do, I bring people with me through fact, influence and carefully constructed arguments to reach consensus on complex issues.
