About Ayesha Ali
I currently teach in the Economics Department at UMass Boston. My research is in applied microeconomics. I have experience in policy evaluation, multivariate regression analysis, and academic writing. I also have interdisciplinary experience in qualitative, community-based participatory research methods. I've published and worked in various grant-funded roles on public-policy topics including: commuting behavior, physical activity choices, health disparities, the health effects of PTSD among Veterans, and substance use and tobacco policies. Courses I have developed and taught at the undergraduate level include: Introduction to Econometrics, Urban and Regional Economics, Health Economics, Public Economics, and Principles of Microeconomics. I've designed a semester-long research project that incorporates proposal writing, literature reviews, coding in Stata, regression analysis, and peer feedback.
