About Ayman Fareed

My passion and strength as a physician are related to my clinical interests. Since my graduation in 2003, I have established several clinical programs based on evidence based best practices. I was able to utilize my strong academic background to implement best models for creating clinical programs. The models of the clinical programs I developed over the years took into considerations best clinical evidence based practices, involvement of patients in their own care, best utilization of available resources and reinforcement of interdisciplinary team model of practice. Testing the outcome of those models has been a major area of my research since my graduation. I was able to implement new models and improve them over the years through clinical research. I have several publications focused on the area of treatment outcome and health promotion for patients with opioid addiction. I have gained national and international reputation as a clinician researcher. I was recently invited to give a lecture and participate in an international committee to create a uniformed global policy for addiction treatment in Pisa, Italy. My most significant national contribution in the teaching arena relates to my role as an advocate for treatment of opioid addiction. I have written several review articles, a book chapter, editorials and other publications related to opioid addiction treatment. I have gained national and international reputation in this area.
