About Ayomide Popoola

Hi! I am currently a 4th-year student at McMaster University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Honors Life Sciences, minoring in Psychology. I possess strong lab-based and community-based research skills, with most of my work focusing on underrepresented populations. I am particularly interested in psychology that intersects with mental health and culture; While investigating the psychology of inequality that ultimately leads to health disparities in ethnic and racial minorities. I continue to expand my interest in various psychology subfields while also pulling from my background in the interdisciplinary sciences to conduct scientific research that I hope will one day be translational. Ultimately, I intend to pursue my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, predominately focusing on researching, creating, and implementing community-based – culturally competent interventions designed for use within marginalized communities.
