About Ayson Aquino

Growing up, I always had a passion of figuring out how things work. Whether it's how things were made on Discovery channel growing up to finding out why some things worked while some just didn't. I knew one way or another, my career would need to fill in my endless curiosity. And I've been taking steps to figure it out. Teaching Towards the end of my high school years and into my early years in university, I was an English teacher. I followed an English program where I taught children in kindergarten and older students in a tuition center. I learned so much about classroom management, being creative in teaching and most importantly, empathy. Relating to my students and helping them grow was so gratifying and fulfilling. Copywriting During my 2nd year in university, I wanted to try something other than teaching and I landed a part-time copywriter role at a startup. This was where I learned the most out of any job I've ever been to. From the basics of copywriting, keeping things simple and informative, researching topics and being able to write according to the voice of my clients, It was all a new experience. I learned a lot about time management and how important strategies could be. Internship As an intern, I landed a role in the Digital Entertainment department of Sarawak Media Group. This was where my horizons broadened. I realized I could do so much more than what was written on my degree. From copywriting to data analysis, from being on set to being behind the camera, from content creation to content strategy, I learned and applied so many new skillsets. Social Media Executive My internship went so well that I was offered a permanent role immediately. From here, I started honing in on what I was really good at - Social media data analysis, content strategy, and digital campaigns. I became embroiled in top management meetings, influencing major decisions and driving major change for a company spear-heading Sarawak's digital media scene. What's next? Who knows where I'll go next. But I do know one thing - it will be another adventure!
