About Aytek Sezgin

I am a working professional, who recently graduated from the post-graduate program of Project Management at Lambton College, with more than 7 years of experience in public service, in project management, focusing on small-medium enterprises in various sectors and socio-economic development. I have also successfully completed a professional development course on Supply Chain and Logistics Management at the University of Waterloo. My first role was mentoring entrepreneurs and promoting the city, which included stakeholder management, communication solutions, event management, presenting the city as a center of tourism and business to contribute to socio-economic development. Two years later, I was promoted to my favorite role, since I love being in the field more than just a desk job, to the monitoring and evaluation department. I monitored the implementation of projects in the region, in various sectors by editing and signing contracts, guiding the project schedule and budget of both machinery procurement and construction, conducting final inspection, project closure and performance evaluation. My last role was program management for three years, in which I took part in both design of program frameworks including financial, legal and temporal details, plus evaluation of program applicants. After experiencing different aspects of project cycle for seven years in public, I wanted to expand my project management experience to a wider and international level. So, I decided to study and practice it in Canada. As a part of my education, I completed my internship in the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce, as an Operations Coordinator Intern, who contributed to potential client discovery and sectoral mapping, supported the management in organizing online events and managed daily activities. After my internship I continued as an Operations Coordinator in a window coverings manufacturing company named Colours & Colours Window Coverings, which was another desk and field combination position for me. I received orders and quoted customers, attended to both manufacturing and installation activities and meanwhile assisted to creation of visual content for digital marketing. Currently, I pursue a career in operations coordination-related positions, meanwhile preparing for the PMP certification exam. I am also interested in project management practices, focusing on schedules, budgets and stakeholder management in other sectors, such as construction (contracting), commerce (international), and property management (non-commercial).
