About Az Sperry
Az Sperry (she/her) is a Mexican-American freelance cartoonist and micro-publisher. Az writes and illustrates her own comics, and works in publishing as a designer, illustrator, colorist, and publicist. Az got her BFA in Comic Art from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2020. Her first comic, I Don't Want to be Famous, was nominated for the 2021 Broken Pencil Zine Award, and she has an ongoing series called June, for Short. Some of her stories are real, some are made up, but she can no longer tell the difference. Az has a great understanding of what goes into the arduous process of getting a book from sketch to print, and holds deadlines and clear communication in the highest regard.
