Background
About Azadeh Khalili
As a change maker, policy innovator, and organizational strategist, I’ve spent my career advancing justice—across governments, philanthropic institutions, grassroots movements, and global networks. As Executive Director of Humanity in Action, Inc, I’m honored to lead an international community rooted in human rights, moral courage, and cross-generational solidarity. I believe our greatest power lies in our ability to imagine and build a just society—especially when we lead with empathy, stand in solidarity, and center the voices of those most impacted. Born in Iran and shaped by migration, I carry with me a lived understanding of displacement, resistance, and resilience. My work has included drafting landmark legislation for immigrant rights and gender equity in New York City, creating global youth HIV prevention programs, and leading strategic partnerships at the intersection of philanthropy and movement building. I believe in collective leadership, healing, and joy as strategies for sustainable change.
