About B. J. Crook

As an advisor, my goal is to help clients reach a state of financial independence, a place where they have freedom to spend their time doing what they love with the people who matter most to them. I serve as an educator, guide, and partner, walking alongside them as they pursue their goals. I consider myself a “planning nerd,” and I spend most of my time developing tailored financial plans that not only help them reach financial independence, but give them confidence about their decisions and their futures. I am incredibly detail oriented, and I enjoy guiding clients through the ins and outs of their financial plans and investment strategies. I work with them to stress test their financial preparedness, keeping an eye on the future to help them mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. By providing detailed insights about their financial situation, I help clients gain confidence in their ability to achieve financial independence, whatever that looks like to them. I have the privilege of serving a diverse set of clients; they’ve achieved different levels of success and are in different phases of life—but all of them are genuinely kind people who have realistic expectations and are open to new ideas and advice. Some of them include retired and active military members, small-business owners, sales professionals, and physicians. I currently live in Virginia Beach with my wife Sarah, our three kids Nolan, Grant, and Kate, and our dog, Ruthie. I enjoy watching sports, playing in a local baseball league, going to concerts, and getting in the water as much as I can.
