About Babafemi Dare

Dare Francis Babafemi is a leading expert in monitoring and evaluating HIV/AIDS programs in Nigeria. I have being into development work for over nine (9) years now with experience spread between International and Local NGOs in participatory Monitoring & Evaluation of developmental agenda set to improve communities, health sectors and government agencies. I worked with the comic relief project under the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (IHAA) as monitoring and evaluation officer for 2 years before I moved to the Management Sciences for Health (MSH) as monitoring and evaluation specialist before my promotion to senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in 2011 and to Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor in 2013. The health economics training in Germany empowered me to use limited resources to achieve the best health outcomes. Besides using data to make informed decision, I can also use economic indices and analysis to make evidence-based decisions. As the M&E lead, I am responsible for all the functions of the associate director and advisor in M&E.Over these years, I have worked with different multi-disciplinary teams in developing:(1) Result-based Monitoring & Evaluation system to assist project management,(2) Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP),(3) Defining indicators for performance, achievement, and reporting,(4) Tracking project performance based on targets,(5) Designing tools to meet reporting needs and requirements,(6) Disseminate Results to different level of stakeholders using best agreed medium,(7) Capacity building of various cadre of health personnel and community actors,(8) Training and facilitating the use of data to inform decisions that has improved service delivery, and (9) Use participatory techniques towards achieving ownership and sustainability of developmental Agenda.
