About Babanpreet Singh

I’m someone who gets genuinely excited about the stuff most developers run away from—kernel logs, device trees, memory maps, and bare-metal boards. From the moment I touched embedded C and watched my first blinking LED via GPIO, I was hooked. Since then, I’ve been diving deeper into the world of low-level software, crafting custom Linux distributions using Yocto, patching kernels, managing SPI buses, and building real-time systems for real-world hardware. I care deeply about how systems work under the hood—boot sequences, update mechanisms, network stack orchestration, and building resilient embedded platforms. Whether it’s engineering an A/B update system with SWUpdate, debugging CAN/SPI issues with an oscilloscope, or shaving seconds off boot time, I enjoy being in the trenches solving hard problems. Outside of work, I contribute to university rocketry systems and speak at tech events to share what I’ve learned with the next wave of developers.
