About Baber Khalid

I am a PhD candidate at Rutgers University working under the supervision of Dr. Matthew Stone. My general research interests lie in the area of Natural Language Processing with key focus on how to build interactive systems which exhibit human-like behavior. To achieve this goal I focus on building models of interactive communication which can reason using logical and learned meaning representations, innovative dialogue state representations and relying on re-inforcement learning algorithms to learn effective communication strategies. In addition to this, I am focused on adapting machine learning models to respect human-centered objectives like fairness. My journey, so far, has been very exciting and I am excited about what I will face ahead.
