About Babs Crane

I specialise in bringing human understanding to businesses and organisations, be it the understanding of what make customers tick or how to engage employees, delivered with the use of applied psychology & behavioural science. I'm fascinated by what drives human behaviour and how to use this to drive positive change. With 10 years of commercial design experience, gained in combination with a in-depth education in Psychology and over 15 years of business development under my belt, I not only diagnose and develop strategies to make organisations more 'human friendly', I directly produce a vast range of deliverables. These range from visual designs, brand & communication strategies, through to delivering training courses. I hold an MSc (with Distinction) in Consumer Psychology, a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) and a member of GAABS (the Global Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists). I draw primarily on Consumer, Cognitive & Social Psychology, along with my commercial experience, to create a three-tiered approach to deliver behavioural science within businesses. This enables me to: 1 - create the message 2 - design how that message is delivered, optimised for our perceptual processes 3 - improve the psychological perception of businesses. I have been commissioned to create solutions for a wide range of businesses and applications, from behaviourally-informed User Interfaces (UI) to create positive User Experiences (UX) for SaaS products, eCommerce sites and marketing campaigns, through to print ads and brand identities. My work has been utilised in FTSE100 businesses, non profit organisations and SMEs in sectors such as Insurance & Banking, Food, Manufacturing, Construction, Renewables & HVAC. I not only provide Behavioural Science consultancy services but, with my extensive experience in both print & digital design, can also close the loop by producing my own behaviourally-informed designs to enhance business offerings. I am passionate about projects that allow pro-social applications of behavioural science including sustainability, financial welfare and leading longer, healthier lives. I have research experience in gender equality and diversity & inclusion within the commercial world.
