About Bahareh Ameri

Music has always been at the heart of my journey. Born and raised in Iran, I’ve spent the past ten years teaching music at various levels, from Kindergarten to Middle School, helping students connect with music in meaningful and joyful ways. My passion for Orff pedagogy has led me to complete all three levels of certification at the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Toronto, along with additional training at the San Francisco School’s Orff program. Currently, I teach Primary Music and Choir at Unionville School and work with the Toronto Children’s Chorus as a Miro Choir Conductor. Since 2015, I’ve also been part of the RCM faculty as an early childhood music (Smart Start) Teacher. Previously, I taught as an Itinerant Music Teacher with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and contributed to the Aga Khan Museum Resources Project through the Ontario Music Educators Association (OMEA), helping bring traditional and contemporary music from Asia and the Islamic world into the classroom. Beyond teaching, I love working with educators, mentoring teachers in Orff and early childhood music programs, and serving on the boards of the Ontario Chapter of Carl Orff Canada and the Iranian Orff Association (ADAMAK). I’ve also had the privilege of leading workshops, organizing music events, and creating spaces where students and teachers can explore music, culture, and creativity together. I’m always excited to connect with fellow educators and musicians—let’s keep the music going!
