About Baher Aboustait

Graduated from Cairo University, in 1973, Mr. Baher Aboustait has 45 years of experience in various multi – disciplinary mega engineering projects. He started his career path as a bridge design engineer in the “15th of May Bridge”, across the Nile in Cairo. During his long experience, Prof. Baher Aboustait has gained solid academic background and extensive professional experience in the areas of structural analysis, design, evaluation and rehabilitation of structures with hands on computerized techniques in structural engineering and familiarity of local and international codes as well as the application of value engineering concepts to obtain optimum structural design. Since 1997 to 2016, Prof. Aboustait, was the “Head of the Construction Engineering Department” at Misr University for Science and Technology. He is currently the "Dean of Engineering" at Misr University for Science and Technology where he is directing a college consisting of nine academic departments with total of 2500 students. His academic responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching, research and public services. Apart from the academic career, Prof. Aboustait designed and reviewed a wide range of high profile structural engineering projects in the Middle East and GCC region starting from bridges, sky scrapers, residential and office buildings, hotels, stadiums, factories, warehouses, and extending to water treatment plants, tanks, etc. In addition to his technical expertise, his responsibilities include directing the structural team to provide optimum design solutions within appropriate time frames and budget as well as coordinating with the site and other disciplines to solve related problems and deliver successful projects.
