About Bailey Axe

Bailey Axe is a Deputy City Solicitor at the Philadelphia Law Department in its Affirmative & Special Litigation unit. She currently represents the City in litigation involving a variety of federal and state claims, as well as advises City clients on a range of litigation issues. Before joining the Law Department, she served as a mass tort law clerk in the Complex Litigation Center of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania under the Honorables Arnold New and Abbe Fletman. Prior to her public sector service, she was a civil litigator, concentrating her practice on a diverse array of complex civil and commercial matters. She represented a wide range of clients, including individuals, small and large companies and governmental entities, in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Bailey litigated matters involving a variety of legal issues including contract disputes, business torts, products liability, environmental and personal injury claims. Bailey is well-versed in the management of all phases of civil discovery in complex multiparty litigation, including oversight and use of electronic discovery. Her litigation experience broadly ranged across the trial court level, as well as in private mediation proceedings.
