About Bailey Bussiere
I have loved math and physics all my life, and I am currently most interested in quantum field theory and low-energy many-body systems. My current research focuses on the properties of Josephson Junctions: a system of two superconductors separated by a small nonsuperconducting material. Can Josephson Junctions be used to realize Majorana quasiparticles? Can we use them as a platform for fault-tolerant topologically-protected quantum computing? I have been programming for over 10 years, starting with turtle graphics in Visual Basic as a kid. I then learned Java and C++ to make larger applications. Since then I have learned many other programming languages and studied algorithm design as well as game physics engines, graphics, and data structures. I learn new things quickly; I am good at a lot of the things I try, and when I am not, I put in the work. My hobbies include powerlifting and bodybuilding, languages, music, andreading books.
