About Bailey Gutsche

Hello! I am a recent graduate of the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Alberta! I am very excited about working as an OT hopefully in a community setting. I am striving to become an advocate for holistic, lifelong care and management for, as well as appropriate, respectful, and thorough communication between health care professionals and those living with severe disabilities, including brain injury. I have extensive volunteer and work experience which has allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge in service and disability. I am currently working as a piano teacher (self-employed for 5 years), working with children and adults of all levels and abilities, including those with disabilities. This allowed me to volunteer with the Vancouver Adapted Music Society, providing musical instruction to clients with diverse needs, goals, and abilities between March and August 2022. I volunteered for the Tri-Cities Brain Injury Group from 2019 to 2022, organizing and assisting at events and performing administrative duties. I volunteered with the Family Advocates for Brain Injury Survivors, a grassroots organization concerned with raising awareness about the housing crisis for people with severe disabilities. I also volunteered at Neuromotion Physiotherapy clinic from 2019 to 2020, which involved assisting kinesiologists in physical therapy, and assisting with the Lokomat © device for clients. I have extensive experience volunteering and working as a water safety instructor/lifeguard.
