About Bailey Henkel

As a CNA at Grant Regional Hospital, I have been able to see acute patients and how the nurses handle each situation with each patient and I firmly believe those experiences have shaped me and allowed me to learn in a low pressure environment all the while, gaining the book knowledge that comes with Southwest technical Colleges ADN Nursing program. As a new LPN, I was excited to get my first LPN job as a traveling nurse with Specialized Medical Staffing. This position has been great for getting hands on experience with the wide variety of medications and their uses in today's medicine. It has also helped me perfect my leadership and management skills. In Wisconsin, long term care facilities are only required to have an RN in the building for eight hours per day and the other 16, an LPN can be on campus with an RN on call. The first time I ran into this situation, it was a little nerve wracking but like so many other obstacles, I conquered it with grace.
