About Bailey Rubinstein

I am a sophomore at Indiana University in the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs where I am studying public financial management. I am originally from Grand Junction, Colorado. I would like to be a financial planner or a public equity manager in the future to help individuals and non-profits reach their goals. I became particularly interested in this field during my senior year of high school when I got to help a local non-profit in my hometown for my international baccalaureate business project. I was to help them find more money in their margins for the next summer’s operating budget. I carefully analyzed their business model while ensuring I kept with the organizations values and missions to keep programs that were needed. Because I was able to do this, I learned lessons in problem solving and client satisfaction and relations which are principal aspects of what I am looking for in this role. I was also able to demonstrate skills in strategic planning, collaboration, and financial analysis. Now at Indiana University and the O'Neill School, I plan to expand my horizons and seek new opportunities to strengthen my critical thinking and leadership skills by finding internships and job opportunities in a myriad of different industries to find where I can help people the most. I also intend to be a part of the Little 500 Riders Committee and the Students Helping Students organization on campus. Currently I am a Little 500 rider where I exercise my teamwork and collaboration skills as well as being a part of a large community of students who love to uplift and support each others journey through cycling. In the future I hope to have an internship where I can practice and develop my skills in strategic planning and financial analysis.
