About Bailey Rutherford

My name is Bailey Rutherford, and I am a fourth year Criminology and Law studies major at Marquette University. During my college tenure, I was active within the Black Student Council (BSC), where I worked alongside motivated students to facilitate equality and social change on campus. During my time in BSC, I held an executive board position. Furthermore, I have volunteered as a legal assistant with Marquette Volunteer Legal clinic, where I was able to work alongside lawyers and gain valuable experience. I was able to assist lawyers in helping those seeking legal advice, and talk to members of my very own community, Milwaukee. I served a year with Americorps, a nonprofit agency that connects individuals to local volunteer work, where I facilitated in the specialized care of young children with IEP plans, and worked at a Nextdoor school. At Mayor Cavalier Johnson's Office, I contributed as a Constituent Relations Assistant, where I embraced the opportunity to assist in governmental operations. I drafted communications within the community, stayed updated on contemporary political events, and drafted proclamations. Currently, as a Marketing Intern at Visit Milwaukee, my role involves leveraging social media marketing to promote our vibrant city. Our team's initiatives aim to boost tourism and support local businesses, utilizing my skills in video editing and Microsoft Excel to analyze campaign performance and engage with our audience effectively.
