Hi, I’m Bailey. A Disabled, Neurodivergent, wheelchair user. I work as a Sustainability Manager looking at both environmental and social impact in the construction space. As a Sustainability Manager - subject matter expert in sustainability data and reporting. I have: i) Sustainability reporting experience, coordinating subcontractors, producing monthly reports, and action plans; ii) Certified BREEAM Infrastructure Projects V6 Assessor; and; environmental consultancy and regulation experience. I am personable and confident, and enjoy team working to solve technical problems. I have worked in construction and civil engineering in the environmental space for 4 years and continuing my career in this industry. Stemming from disability inclusion advocacy, I have over 5 years experience in total of chairing and co-chairing award winning employee network groups focussing on disability, neurodivergence, and supporting carers in the workplace. We have been shortlisted as finalists for awards at the Engineering Talent Awards for Employee network of the year 2022 and the Ground Engineering Awards EDI champions category. I was personally listed in the Disability Power 100 as a finalist in the top 10 for the Science and Engineering category, the only finalist in the construction and civils sector. For both 2023/4. The Shaw Trust list recognises the top 100 most influential disabled people in the UK. I aim to use these successes to amplify disabled and neurodivergent lived experiences to enhance workplace inclusion and accessibility through tangible actions. Accessibility benefits all, and it’s about time it’s not an afterthought. My offerings- Storytelling & sharing lived experience - from ‘I ‘walked’ out on my first day’ to revealing the real barriers as a disabled person - it’s more than just a ramp.
