About Bailey Stewart Waugh

Hello, thank you for visiting my profile! I graduated with my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in August 2023 from Lenoir-Rhyne University and passed the NBCOT exam in October 2023. I started working in outpatient pediatrics in December 2023 at Pediatric Hands on Therapy in Gastonia, NC. Other experiences are as follows: My first 12-week fieldwork was in an inpatient rehabilitation with adults who experienced stroke, spinal surgery, cardiac conditions, and generalized debility. My second 12-week fieldwork was in outpatient pediatrics working with children with various disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder, sensory processing disorder, cancer, and developmental delay. Other fieldwork experiences include working in a skilled nursing facility, acute care, and a counseling center. Of note, I also shadowed a school systems occupational therapist in March 2023 and was able to gain some valuable hands on experience in the school setting as well. My professional goals are: 1) Within the next 1-2 years, my goal is to have a fieldwork student.2) Within the next 1-2 years, my goal is to become certified in the SOS feeding approach.3) Within the next 5 years, my goal is to obtain a certification in an additional area of interest (such as: Certified Autism Specialist, Certified Low Vision Specialist, or Basic DIR Floortime Specialist.
