About Banibe Ebegbodi
Hello! I'm Banibe and I am a Cognitive Science major with a minor in Japanese Language and Literature, a minor in Computer Science, and pursuing a certificate in New Media at the University of Georgia. I've dedicated my time with activism towards equality of marginalized groups, LGBTQIA+ resources and inclusion, and mental health support. One of my long term goals is to show women, especially woman of color, that they can thrive in STEM and any line of work that they are passionate about. STEM based fields do not hold many women in higher positions and it can be discouraging for people like me who want to pursue a job in that field. Creating a safe, positive atmosphere where women are listened to and treated as equal would not only encourage me and other women to be in the STEM field, but relay change in other male dominated fields. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had and I hope to give others a safe space to flourish as I have.
