About Baorui Ren
I was trained as an experimental physicist before and later became an industrial scientist. My career goal is to practice engineering with a spirit of creativity, and enjoy funs of doing that. For things that I choose to do, I aim to be the best of them. My daily focus has been to provide innovative and practical solutions to real life problems. I still read the "Physics Today" every month and once in a while I find the physics training and thinking can play important role in engineering. My best invention at Hologic has been a method to use invisible markers to accurately measure breast thickness in a mammogram. It solved a physics problem of weak signal detection in spatial domain, resemble the beauty of CDMA method in communication. Someday I hope it will appear on every Hologic's breast compression paddles. Specialties: to be added.
