About Barb Wigley

I navigated my way through public health and the NGO sector to the UN system via operational, managerial, and consulting roles, with a consistent interest in what it takes to achieve good people management, strong and equitable partnerships, and principled and rights-based systemic change. Along the way, I attained a postgraduate degree in Organization Development and Change, and both a Master’s degree and PhD in Development Studies, variously specializing in gender, psychological and policy issues of refugee camps, and organizational culture and performance in humanitarian aid. For the latter, UNHCR was my major case study in the early and my public report on UNHCR's organization culture continues to be referenced. From managing large sub-offices in challenging contexts, through interagency coordination in "level 3" emergencies, to leading global, systemic change projects, I bring rich experience, knowledge, and a continuing curiosity.
