About Barbara Beeson
As a 17 year old student at the University of Illinois, I knew I wanted to study the Spanish Language and it's culture. I minored in psychology and linguistics. I appreciate now more than ever what was laid at my feet when I went to UI. I had more resources at my disposal, but found out too late. My intention was to study in Spain for a year, which I was unable to do; a regret I will have for the rest of my life! I decided I wanted to become a teacher, so I did. Now, I am fortunate enough to be in a career I love. The professors at UI prepared a young person to study their passion(s) and the student actualizes their career either right after graduation, or later in life. Thanks to the UI, I have the confidence and ability to do what I love to do. Never stop learning!
