About Barbara C. Pamplin

In 2017, I survived an aortic dissection, 50 days in ICU, three open heart surgeries, and clinical deaths. These profound experiences reshaped my understanding of resilience, especially reflective of Black women's endurance pf trauma, propelling me to write "From Fat, Black, and Unlovable to Beautiful Powerful Love." This memoir and self-help book details my journey through trauma to a place of empowerment and purpose. As a former digital marketing executive and now publisher, I leverage my expertise to support other women, particularly women of color, wanting to voice their life stories. I offer group coaching and healing workshops, and publish books that include digital content and access to a supportive virtual community. These services are meticulously designed to guide women through the healing process, turning their personal trials into universal messages of hope and strength. Furthermore, as a certified Patient Advocate and health trauma survivor, I stand for those who are surviving chronic health conditions. My journey has equipped me with unique insights, empowering me to effectively communicate the patient's perspective. In my public speaking engagements, I aim to inspire patients with hope and resilience, while also educating healthcare providers on the patient's perspective.
