About Barbara Holub

Artist, architect, researcher, curator; exhibitions and projects in the public/ urban space, with an emphasis on linking the art audience to various "general publics" by creating performative settings for critically engaging in current urban and societal issues -"silent activism". In Barbara Holub founded transparadiso with Paul Rajakovics (architect and urbanist) as a transdisciplinary practice in between architecture, art, urban design, urban intervention and research. transparadiso has been developing new tools and strategies for current challenges of urban development by involving artistic and experimental urban strategies on an equal level to conventional urban planning methods as "direct urbanism" – focussing on social and societal issues and counteracting urban planning based on neo-liberal interests. Barbara Holub and Paul Rajakovics received the Austrian National Art Award, 2018.
